If you enjoy craft beer, then you need to check out Explora's Science of Beer event! Science of Beer returns this August bigger and better than ever before. Come sip and discuss all sorts of delicious beer!

Have you ever wondered how hops, barley, water, and yeast yield so many different types of beer? You can find out at Explora Science Center's annual Science of Beer event! There will be 14 local vendors spotlighting beer, cider, and mead, as well as local dishes, desserts, music, and homebrewing knowledge. You can chat with the vendors, taste their beverages, and even engage with them through games!
The featured drink vendors are Ex Novo, Late Shift, Marble, Mystic Ambrosia, Sunday Service Motor Company, Harmon Lane by Southwest Grape and Grain, and Unhinged Brewing. You'll find them at stations throughout the museum. Other vendors include The Chocolate Dude, I Scream Ice Cream, The Munchie Truck, Three Sisters Kitchen, and more.
In Explora's marketplace, guests can try activities like cup stacking and cornhole while wearing Vision-Shifting Beer Goggles. They can also see if they're part of the 75% of the population with the genetic ability to taste
phenylthiocarbamide (PTC), a bitter organic compound. For even more action, experience a blend of science, beer, and soccer with local favorites, Ex Novo and New Mexico United.
Other curated Science of Beer games include Bucket Pong, Dice Race, Thumper, giant Connect 4, giant Tic Tac Toe, trivia, and Beer Quest. Want to sit back and relax? Check out one of the exclusive beer talks by local homebrewing professionals.
